I am Bianca Richardson - a graphic designer and illustrator from the beautiful Limestone Coast region in South Australia.
Ever since a Europe trip including a visit to my grandparents' hometowns in Italy, I have been OBSESSED with buildings. The quirky little details in each home, the textures - evidence of time passing and the wonder of the history of the building.
For the past few years, I have been building (!) on this fascination by illustrating custom home portraits for others as a special keepsake of their memories. These illustrations all begin with a trusty pencil and are finished on an iPad Pro with Procreate. I love this process as I find joy in all the little wonky details while having the ease of digital composition.
I have over 20 years experience in graphic design and work with a wonderful range of clients from government organisations to small business. I design books, educational and promotional materials, illustrated maps, reports, signage, along with logos and branding.
In 2024 I illustrated my first published children's book and have since had the joy of visiting schools to share my process. These interactive visits hold a special place in my heart and I hope to continue to inspire the next generation.

Back in 2010, I started a blog as a New Years resolution with the goal to 'just draw more'. I was an active member of the online project Illustration Friday where artists and illustrators were encouraged to submit their response to a weekly topic that was posted on the site. Completing 30/52 weeks was a pretty good strike rate I must admit. From there, people started to request my drawings and I would go on to create prints and hit up local markets.
Now I am far too attached to that name to let it go, it has a story and as you know, I am very nostalgic.
